Benedita da Silva receives the Abdias Nascimento Diploma. Deserved tribute to a great woman.
Daughter of a domestic worker Benedita was a councilor, deputy, senator and governor, always defending the agendas of equality and social justice.
The session will have the participation of representatives from different sectors also including Jacqueline Pitanguy, who followed Benedita’s career from the beginning and worked with her in the Brazilian Constituent process.
The tribute, on May 30, takes place at the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro (ALERJ) at 6 pm.
