The Permanent Forum of Domestic and Gender Violence of the School of Magistrates of the State of Rio de Janeiro (EMERJ) promoted on May 31st, the event Feminicide how to prevent and confront it, coordinated by Leila Linhares Barsted, member of this Forum.

The various perspectives of the speakers pointed out the high incidence of this crime in Rio de Janeiro, the increasingly frequent authorship of perpetrators still very young, and also the psychological violence against women, mothers of young black men who are victims of violence committed by agents of the State. They also indicated the urgent need for investment in the training of security and justice agents and the involvement of the education system in the promotion of values focused on respect for the dignity of the human person.
