On August 25th, the Coordinator for Women’s Policies and Rights (CODIM), from the City Hall of Niterói, and the Fluminense Federal University (UFF), held the Roundtable Conversation 16 Years of Maria da Penha Law: Historical Struggles and Current Challenges. Leila Linhares Barsted participated as a speaker.

On this occasion, UFF, through its Psychology Extension Program, launched the book Tecendo redes e transpondo desafios, a collection of articles, organized by Paula Land Curi, Paloma L. R. Jashar, Hildete Pereira de Melo and Thais Ferreira Rodrigues. The book is the result of contributions by women who came together in the Seminar “Weaving networks and overcoming challenges because resisting. caring and caring. resisting”, which was supported by CODIM.  The book presents, in the first part, the experiences of women who acted in the struggle and construction of the feminist movement in Brazil with articles by Leila Linhares Barsted, Jacqueline Pitanguy, Hildete Pereira de Melo and Angela Fontes, among other authors. In the second part, various articles present the plurality of agendas of the women’s movements and the academic production. This book is available in the site of CEPIA.
