CEPIA signs a manifesto against Ordinance No. 2,282 of the Ministry of Health that remove rights guaranteed to girls, adolescents and adult women victims of rape, making their access to abortion in public health services very difficult.
Among the points highlighted in the repudiation note is the need for the National Congress to urgently approve the Legislative Decree 381/2020, which stats that the Ordinance No. 2,282 is illegal and inconstitucional and points out that “any rule that offers constraints for the exercise of a right must be promptly contested. Women victims of sexual violence are constantly re-victimized as they face the path to enforce their option for legal abortion. In practice, the Ordinance makes it impossible for women and girls to have an accident of sexual violence in health services, by making such demands ”.
