The National Front Against the Criminalization of Women and for the Legalization of Abortion (FNPLA), the Anti-Racist Feminist Parliamentary Front (FPFAR) and feminist organizations that work in the Sexual Autonomy Program, including CEPIA, which works in the Communication WG, jointly built an advocacy action in the National Congress (Federal Chamber and Senate), which took place from March 11th to 14th.
The advocacy action OCCUPY CONGRESS FOR OUR LIVES AND FOR REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE – for women, girls and pregnant people, took place at the opening of the legislative session and established conversations with parliamentarians on the central theme of sexual and reproductive rights, with a focus on legal abortion, political violence based on gender and race and violence against women. Mariana Barsted represented CEPIA at this event.
A Letter, signed by 22 organizations, including CEPIA, was delivered during the first session of the year of the Commission on Human Rights, Minorities and Racial Equality, which is now chaired by Congresswoman Daiana Santos (PCdoB-RS). Access the letter at this link.
