On November 12, the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ) promoted the TJRJ seminar at the G20: Women on the Agenda with the aim of debating issues relevant to tackling gender inequality and presenting proposals to be forwarded to the G20. Coordinated by judge Adriana Ramos de Mello, the seminar was attended by, among others, Patricia Carvalho from the NGO Criola, the economist Hildete Pereira de Melo, Janaina Gama from the W20 group and Jacqueline Pitanguy who highlighted the role of justice in ensuring compliance with the laws and above all, in acting in circumstances in which abortion is not criminalized, not hindering or preventing the exercise of rights already assured to Brazilian women. The result of the seminar was the preparation of a document with several proposals for the group of G20 countries.
