NUDEM, the Special Nucleus for the Defense of Women’s Rights of the Public Defender’s Office of Rio de Janeiro, under the Nudem Convida project, promoted the meeting Council on women’s rights – how they work at the municipal, state and federal level. The seminar had the participation of Jacqueline Pitanguy and Joyce Trindade, Rio de Janeiro ‘s Secretary of Policies and Promotion of Women and was coordinated by Public Defender Flávia Nascimento. The seminar, which took place on February 7th, dealt with public policies from a historical point of view, the creation and implementation of these policies, as well as the current scenario of policies in force in the state of Rio de Janeiro. One of the points highlighted was the fact that public policies are easily dismantled, as happened in the Brazilian previous government, and how important it is to have not only the memory, but the commitment to the implementation and maintenance of policies.
