The National School for the Training of Magistrates (ENFAM), on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, promoted, on November 25th, the Webinar Gender and Human Rights of Women, coordinated by Judge Adriana Ramos de Melo of the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice. The Webinar featured lectures by Professor Silvia Pimentel, on the Convention for the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women; by Leila Linhares Barsted, on the Convention to Prevent Punishing and Eradicating Violence Against Women and Jacqueline Pitanguy, on the Cairo and Beijing World Conferences.
The three exhibitions highlighted advances in the defense of women’s human rights and the current context of setbacks that put these rights at risk.
The Webinar was assisted by Judges from several Brazilian states and by the Minister Og Fernandes of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ).
