CEPIA together with a group of organizations prepared subsidies to the Federal Court of Justice (STF), through the figure of the amicus curiae, or friend of the court, which attest to the violation of basic rights in laws that prohibit the gender approach and in others laws inspired by the School without Party movement. Leila Linhares Barsted, from CEPIA, is one of the lawyers who signed the amicus curiae. All organizations are eligible as experts and will be able to assist the court in judging the cause. Often, there is unfamiliarity by the judge with certain themes under examination, which justifies the entry of entities such as amici curiae, to clarify the facts and with the purpose of seeing the causes properly assessed and judged by the competent court. The “friends of the court” assist the magistrates in the judgment of cases of public interest.
