No dia 08 de março a Escola de Magistratura do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (EMERJ) iniciou a 3a edição da Pós Graduação Lato Sensu Gênero e Direito.
Leila Linhares Barsted, da CEPIA, professora emérita do Curso, participou da Aula Inaugural do Curso, abordando o tema definido por ONU Mulheres para o Dia Internacional da Mulher de 2021 – Mulheres na liderança: Alcançando um futuro igual em um mundo de COVID-19, destacando a centralidade das contribuições das mulheres nesse contexto da pandemia e os altos custos que carregam enfrentando o aumento da violência doméstica, do desemprego e da pobreza. Chamou atenção para a solidariedade e resiliência das mulheres de comunidades urbanas e rurais na distribuição de cestas básicas, em campanhas para ampliar o uso de máscara e distanciamento social e de sensibilização da sociedade para apoiar as comunidades mais pobres.
A aula contou também com a participação de Bila Sorj e Maria Luiza Heilborn professoras desse Curso responsáveis pelos Módulos de Gênero e Direitos Humanos, respectivamente. O Curso tem a duração de 18 meses e é dirigido a membros do Poder Judiciário, da Defensoria Pública, do Ministerio Público, advogadas e advogados, profissionais das áreas de segurança pública e de assistência social, dentre outros.

Leila Linhares Barsted, from CEPIA, emeritus professor of the Course, participated in the Inaugural Class of the Course, addressing the theme defined by UN Women for the International Women’s Day 2021 – Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a world of COVID-19, , highlighting the centrality of women’s contributions in this context of the pandemic and the high costs they face struggling against the increase in domestic violence, unemployment and poverty. Leila drew attention to the solidarity and resilience of women from urban and rural communities in the distribution of basic food baskets, in campaigns to expand the use of masks and social distance and to raise awareness in society to support the poorest communities.
The class also had the participation of Bila Sorj and Maria Luiza Heilborn, lectures of this Course, responsible for the Gender and Human Rights Modules, respectively. The course lasts for 18 months and is aimed at members of the Judiciary, the Public Defender’s Office, the Public Ministry, lawyers and professionals in the areas of public security and social assistance, among others.
