The right to sexual and reproductive autonomy means deciding freely whether or not to have children, when and how many. It also implies on living our sexuality without violence or coercion. This program aims to defend and enforce these rights.
Various activities integrates this program: Advocacy actions with society and the State, including amicus curiae with the Federal Supreme Court; training and sensitization of different audiences, in particular health professionals; research on access to contraception and evaluation of health services; campaigns on sexual and reproductive rights. Through this program CEPIA has established partnerships with UN Women and the United Nations Population and Development Fund, with medical associations, with national and international networks. CEPIA also integrates the Maternal Mortality Committee of Rio de Janeiro.
