Human Rights, Access to Justice and Violence against Women

Human Rights, Access to Justice and Violence against Women Violence against women is a complex, multidimensional, universal phenomenon. Race and ethnicity, social class, sexual identity among other conditions increases the degree of vulnerability of women in situations of violence. This program includes training activities with security and justice professionals as well as with women themselves; advocacy for laws and public policies and access to justice; monitoring the effectiveness of the Maria da Penha Law and the Feminicide Law; conducting research; a course on the Maria da Penha law for mobile phone; production and dissemination of knowledge and information in social networks and in the mainstream press; participation in national and international commissions and forums against gender violence. Through this program CEPIA has established partnerships with feminist movements and organizations, justice and security institutions, academic institutions.
