A BIRREGIONAL ARTICULATION AGAINST FEMINICIDES AND OTHER VIOLENCES AGAINST WOMEN promoted on June 2nd, the III Online Bi-regional Seminar – Life Care: Analysis of policies and community resistance against violence, in the framework of Covid 19.
This Seminar was concerned on deepening the debate on structural violence and specifically gender-based violence against women in the context of COVID 19, considering the situation of special vulnerability of women and girls who are victims of gender violence who are more exposed because they have to live with their attackers.
The prevalence of inequalities, a patriarchal culture and weaknesses in public health care systems have highlighted a scenario of risk and suffering for women, girls and the LGBTIQ population.
Leila Linhares Barsted, executive coordinator of CEPIA, was one of the exhibitors of this Seminar, which was coordinated by Susana Chiarotti, from CLADEM, and with exhibitors from the Centro de Investigación y Asociación for the development of the women “La Colectiva”, in El Salvador; Centro de la Mujer Flora Tristán, in Peru; Red de Mujeres Latinoamericanas y del Caribe, in Spain and ASPACIA, in Spain.
