On August 27, the national newspaper O Globo published the article Elections, abortion and delays by Jacqueline Pitanguy and Leila Barsted, which warns of the need to assess the responsibilities of municipal public agents in guaranteeing legal abortion services for girls and women who still face many obstacles in the public health system, including the municipal health system, to have access to voluntary termination of pregnancy in cases provided by law. They also point out that the law governing voluntary abortion dates back to 1940, warning of the urgent need to update this law.
