On August 19th, the Permanent Forum on Domestic, Family and Gender Violence and the Permanent Forum on Public Health and Access to Justice, both of the Rio de Janeiro State School of Magistrates (EMERJ), held a meeting on Public Policies to Combat Gender Violence against Women, to commemorate the 18th anniversary of the Maria da Penha Law, the 30th anniversary of the Belém do Pará Convention, August Lilac and Psychology Month. The event was coordinated by Judges Adriana Ramos de Mello and Katerine Jatahy Kitsos Nygaard. The panel on Violence in Health Care featured psychologists Maria Cristina Milanez Werner, Cecília Teixeira Soares and Uyara Bráz Soares. The panel on Humanizing Care for Women in Public Security featured Civil Police delegate Fernanda Fernandes, Military Police Major Bianca Neves Ferreira da Silva and Leila Linhares Barsted.
