On July 1, the seminar on Social Movements, Gender and Emancipatory Struggles took place, organized by Professor Mariana Trotta (PPGD/UFRJ), with the participation of speakers Leila Linhares Barsted (lawyer, founder and executive coordinator of the non-governmental organization CEPIA), Luciene Lacerda (State Forum of Black Women), Henrique Rebelo (President of the Diversity Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association-RJ and professor at the Rio de Janeiro State School of Magistrates – EMERJ) and Monique Zuma (Olga Benário Movement and Casa Almerinda Gama). The audience included students from the master’s and doctoral programs in Law at UFRJ (PPGD/UFRJ), including Mariana Barsted.
The event was organized as part of the discipline Justice System, Human Rights and Social Movements, bringing the protagonism of feminist movements, the black movement, the LGBTQIAP+ movement and the struggle of these movements for the realization of the law and how the law must adapt to the demands of these movements for justice and human rights.
