On October 6th, the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO) held an event at the Federal Justice Cultural Center to debate the 35th anniversary of the 1988 Federal Constitution, with a screening of the documentary Lipstick Lobby.
Leila Linhares Barsted took part as a speaker, highlighting the role of feminist movements in Brazil in the fight for rights and the importance of the CNDM in the Constituent Assembly process.
The film The Lipstick Lobby discusses this process, which resulted in the expansion of women’s rights in the 1988 Constitution.
