The Rio de Janeiro School of Magistrates, EMERJ, is promoting the Gender and Law Postgraduate Course, which is in its fourth edition and brings the gender dimension into the legal field. The course is coordinated by judge Adriana Ramos de Mello. The inaugural class, which took place on August 10th, featured Jacqueline Pitanguy talking about rights, power and politics, Professor Bila Sorj addressing the centrality of gender in the current political debate and EMERJ professor emeritus Leila Linhares Barsted talking about the critical feminist theory of law.
