In the last four years Brazil’s foreign policy has been aligned with anti-human rights positions both in the field of environment and women’s rights. The current government is part of an initiative by ultra-conservative countries where women and girls are second-class citizens, such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt, whose main objective is to oppose sexual and reproductive rights.
More than 100 Brazilian organizations, including CEPIA, sent a letter to the new government requesting that Brazil withdraw from this alliance, whose actions hurt the acquired rights of Brazilian women and men.
