The Brazilian National Population and Development Commission (CNPD) held its second ordinary meeting on December 4th and 5th at the Ministry of Health in Brasilia, in which several motions were approved, including a vehement and well-founded repudiation of a Constitutional Amendment Project PEC 164/2012, which intends to prohibit abortion in any circumstances. Jacqueline Pitanguy is part of the CNPD and participated in this meeting. At this meeting, a recommendation was also approved for Itamaraty to consider the possibility of assuming the presidency of the CRPD (Regional Population and Development Commission) in 2026.
