On September 20th, the 55th Subsection of the Rio de Janeiro Chapter of the Brazilian Bar Association, with its Permanent Women’s Commission, held the 1st edition of the Women in the Spotlight/2024 event, which recognizes the fundamental representation of women who stand out in different areas in defending the guarantee of their rights. This event was dedicated to women who have been conquering important spaces in public and private institutions and in society. Leila Linhares Barsted, from CEPIA, was one of those honored for her activism and long career defending women’s rights.
