In celebration of Amazon Day, on September 5th, FASE held a seminar and the launch of the book Food Cultures: a study of Amazonian communities, supported by the Amazon Fund, administered by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES). Leila Linhares Barsted represented CEPIA at the seminar, which featured presentations by women community leaders from the Amazon region. As well as valuing the local culinary culture, these leaders highlighted the impact of the advance of agribusiness in their region.
