On August 27, the CNDM held its regular meeting, inaugurating the new term of office of the Councilors. The meeting, held in Brasília, was chaired by the Minister of Women, Aparecida Gonçalves. The CNDM has a diverse composition that represents the plurality of Brazilian women. Jacqueline Pitanguy was invited to give a presentation on the current situation, challenges and opportunities in the defense of women’s rights. Having held the position of president and councilor of this body with renowned knowledge, she spoke about her experience and the work of the CNDM in the current context of intolerance, politicization of religion.
