Malu Gatto and Débora Thomé, who is part of CEPIA’s assembly of associates, published the book Candidates: the first steps of women in Brazilian politics (Candidatas: os primeiros passos das mulheres na política no Brasil), about women candidates for electoral positions in which, based on research and interviews, they identify the profile of the candidates, their motivations for entering the world of politics as well as the countless barriers faced in this space that is still masculine and permeated with gender inequalities. Jacqueline Pitanguy authored the book, which highlights the importance of this topic and the results of this research.
