On July 19th and 20th, the non-governmental organization Criola held the meeting Perspectives 2024 – Democracy, Abortion, Sexual and Reproductive Rights, in partnership with the State Front Against the Criminalization of Women and for the Legalization of Abortion – Frente Rio, in Rio de Janeiro, with more than 50 people present, including representatives from civil society organizations, collectives, entities, councils, educational and research institutions, parliamentarians and advisors.
The meeting also addressed the possibilities of narratives and counter-narratives in favor of abortion and reproductive justice, analyzing different forms of action in the networks and mobilization strategies in PL 1904. There was also a presentation by the Nem Presa Nem Morta, Criança Não é Mãe campaign, with a platform for political pressure, bringing up the PLS and recent cases of girls prevented from accessing legal abortion; the visual and informational strategy of the Flor de Jacarandá Collective; as well as the processing and presentation of data by Gender and Number.

The meeting was mediated by Mariane Marçal (Assistant Coordinator of Projects and Political Incidence) and Mônica Sacramento (Programmatic Coordinator).
