World Population Day was celebrated on July 11, with this year’s central theme being “Lives intertwined, threads of hope: Ending inequalities in sexual and reproductive health and rights”.

In an interview with journalist Mara Regia from Programa Viva Maria, Jacqueline Pitanguy highlighted that population refers to people with rights, including the right to decide when and how many children to have, people who cannot be subjected to coercion in their reproductive choices.
