On June 20th, the National Association for Graduate Studies and Research in Social Sciences (ANPOCS), together with the Brazilian Anthropology Association (ABA), the Brazilian Political Science Association (ABCP), the Brazilian Sociology Society (SBS) and the Brazilian Network of Women Scientists (RBMC), held the online seminar For Desired Motherhood – Reproductive Rights in Brazil. Organized by Professor Roseli Porto, the seminar featured speakers Professor Eva Blay (USP), Professor Ela Wiecko (UnB) and Professor Lia Zanota (UnB). Leila Linhares Barsted attended this event, promoted by important academic institutions. The seminar debated sexual and reproductive rights, especially the right to abortion and attempts to roll back these rights, such as Bill 1904, the most recent example of the fundamentalist and extreme right agenda.
