On October 2nd, CEBES – the Brazilian Center for Health Studies, whose main focus is the struggle for the democratization of health and society, held the webinar Brasil, Descriminaliza o Aborto Já (Brazil, Decriminalize Abortion Now) to debate the decriminalization of abortion, an important issue for public health because it drives thousands of Brazilian women into clandestine practices, causing deaths, sequelae and compromised reproductive futures.

Gabriela Rondon, co-director of Anis – Instituto de Bioética; Leila Linhares Barsted, founder and executive coordinator of CEPIA and Ana Costa, a public health doctor and Executive Director of Cebes, took part in the event. The webinar was opened by Dr. Lenaura Lobato, Vice-President of Cebes.
