On September 8th, more than 20 civil society organizations from Latin America participated in a series of hearings with the Committee of Experts of the Follow-up Mechanism to the Belém do Pará Convention (CEVI/MESECVI). During the hearings, held virtually, the organizations had the opportunity to present information and their concerns about the situation of women in their countries. These hearings allow CEVI to expand its information within the framework of the Fourth Round of Multilateral Evaluation, which monitors progress and outstanding challenges in the implementation of the Belém do Pará Convention. This new round focuses on access to justice, truth and reparation for women victims and survivors of gender-based violence. Leila Linhares Barsted, as a member of the Committee of Experts, took part in these hearings.
