On August 30th, the Brazilian Press Association (ABI), UN Women and CEPIA held the event 48 Years of Feminist Boldness: Echoes of the 1975 UN-ABI Seminar at the ABI Auditorium, which was attended by ABI President Octavio Costa, ABI Women and LBTQIA+ Director Gloria Alvarez and Women’s Minister Aparecida Gonçalves (via video). Mariska Ribeiro, feminist and one of the organizers of the 1975 UN – ABI Seminar, received posthumous tributes from all those present.

Leila Linhares Barsted and Jacqueline Pitanguy took part as speakers at this event, organized by Comba Marques Porto and open to the general public, which traced women’s progress in gaining rights, advances and obstacles, as well as the persistence of discrimination and gender violence.
