On July 14th, CEPIA hosted a meeting with the UNFPA Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Suzana Sotolli, the UNFPA Representative in Brazil, Florbela Fernandes and Júnia Quiroga, Assistant Representative of UNFPA Brazil. At this meeting, representatives of civil society organizations presented their actions and reflected on the 30th anniversary of the United Nations International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), held in Cairo in 1994.

CEPIA, with the support of UNFPA Brazil, organized the Cairo in Everyday Life Course: communication in defense of women’s human rights, which took place in March and April of this year, and in August will launch the Cairo Pills campaign, based on the dialogues and contributions of the Course participants. In September, a publication will be launched with the content of the classes given as an important document of record of what was presented in the Course, by the teachers and participants, including participants from Brazil and Lusophone Africa, and the advances brought by this Conference.
