On Tuesday, June 20th, CEPIA began the Youth, Reproductive Rights and Citizenship Course, a partnership between CEPIA and Ríos Rivers, an organization dedicated to advancing reproductive justice in Latin America.
The theme of the first class was The affirmation of sexual and reproductive rights as human rights & advocacy: a political instrument, with the opening made by Analia Banfi, strategy director of Ríos Rivers; of the teachers Jacqueline Pitanguy and Carmem Barroso and with the mediation of Samatha Vitema.
This course is aimed at young people between 18 and 29 years old and has the objective of bringing to university students and young activists elements to participate in a qualified way in this debate. We hope that, through this course, they will be able to act in defense of reproductive rights and we also intend to present examples of advocacy actions that have resulted in advances in the affirmation of these rights.
