Under the slogan 40 years of Democracy and Quality of Political Representation, the group of radical women self-named Las Ramonas, held on June 15th its first proposal for debate and reflection organized jointly with the Follow-up Mechanism of the Convention of Belém do Pará (MESECVI) and counting also with the collaboration of the Latin American Team for Justice and Gender (ELA) and the Foundation for Human Rights, Equity and Gender (Fundheg).
The debate proposal was to investigate aspects related to gender political violence within political parties, to analyze the quality of political representation that party entities offer to citizens, as well as to develop an electoral proposal, from a panorama of the Latin American region, with special emphasis on Argentina.
This event was provoked from the Report of the Technical Assistance Visit on Violence against Women in Political Life produced by MESECVI/OAS, as well as other research produced by the organizations that accompany this activity. This event brought together the MESECVI Specialists – Leila Linhares Barsted, from Brazil, Lourdes Monteros Justiniano, from Bolivia, Diana Cabral (FunDheg.) Agustina Correa Ximena Cardozo (ELA), Tatiana Bensa, Head of Communication of the MESECVI Technical Secretariat.
