Comisión Permanente de Acceso a la Justicia de Personas en Condición de Vulnerabilidad y Justicia en tu Comunidad, Asociación de Jueces para la Justicia y Democracia (JUSDEM), Asociación Peruana de Mujeres Juezas (APMJ), Grupo de Investigación en Derecho Género y Sexualidad (DEGESE) de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) y el Colegio de Abogados de Lima held, on May 23rd, the Second High Level Academic Event Dialogues for the Strengthening of Sexual and Reproductive Justice.
Leila Linhares Barsted watched this event online, which brought together jurists, journalists, the Colombian Just Cause Movement, and experts in international law from several Latin American countries to debate the decriminalization of abortion in the region. Leila considered very important the participation, in this event, of women judges as speakers, especially judges from Peru, Chile, Mexico and associations of women judges in defense of abortion rights.
