On April 20th, Leila Linhares Barsted was interviewed by Repórter Brasil, TV Brasil, on the date when Law 14.550/2023 was sanctioned by President Lula, which adds article 40-A to Maria da Penha Law, to determine that it will be applied to “all situations provided for in its article 5, regardless of the cause or motivation of the acts of violence and the condition of the offender or offended”.
