On March 24th CEPIA’s team visited the Memorial to Victims of the Holocaust, in Rio de Janeiro. The Memorial aims to preserve and make known the stories of the victims of persecution and genocide undertaken by Nazism.
Through a visit guided by a historian and educator from the Memorial team, a reflection was made on the understanding of the paths taken by the Holocaust and the construction of meaning, highlighting the life stories of those who were persecuted: Jews, black people, people with physical and mental disabilities, the LGBTQIAP+ community, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Masons, and other groups.
