On March 1st and 2nd, Mariana Barsted, representing CEPIA, attended the III Congress Gender, Family and Fundamental Rights – Domestic and Family Violence: Human Rights Violation, organized by the Brazilian Institute of Family Law (IBDFAM).

The themes discussed on day 1 were: Family Courts and Domestic Violence, Hypervulnerability in the context of domestic violence, Education as an indispensable way to change sexist cultural patterns, and Recent changes in the Maria da Penha Law.

The 2nd day focused on the themes Family Law with gender perspective: contributions of the new Protocol of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), Violence in the sharing of property and alimony, (In)Effectiveness of measures to combat violence, Reflective Groups, ending with the conference Enough Violence!
