The Maria da Penha Law Consortium met in Brasilia on January 26th to 27th to continue its efforts to advance legislative and public policies and to continue the work to draft a General Law on Gender Violence against Women.
On January 27th, the Consortium was received by the Minister of Women’s Affairs, Aparecida Gonçalves, at the Ministry’s headquarters, to present proposals aimed at the recovery of public policies. Also on the 27th, the Consortium met with a representative of the Superior Court of Justice, with the theme of the Protocol with the Gender Perspective of the CNJ. Leila Linhares Barsted, member of the Consortium, attended these meetings.
