The Follow-up Mechanism to the Convention of Belém do Pará – MESECVI of the Organisation of American States – OAS, held the 19th Meeting of its Committee of Experts -CEVI in the city of Buenos Aires from 11th to 13th November.
At this meeting, the Regional Study on shelters for victims of gender violence in Latin America and the Multi-Country Focus Study on shelters for women victims of gender violence in Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Peru were presented and discussed, and the CEVI’s General Recommendation on girls and women with disabilities was approved. Several working themes were also addressed, including cyber-violence against women and parental alienation syndrome.

Leila Linhares Barsted, CEVI member, participated in this Meeting and collaborated, in particular, with the study on shelters for women victims of violence in Brazil.
