The Study Group on Social Sciences of Minho University, Portugal promoted an event with the participation of Branca Moreira Alves, Jacqueline Pitanguy and Heloisa Buarque de Holanda on  the feminist movement in Brazil, history, challenges and perspectives. Branca and Jacqueline talked about this movement on the seventies, still under dictatorship, and its role during the democratization of the country and the 1988 Constitution as well as on challenges of the movement today. Heloisa talked about feminism and culture, the identity agenda and highlighted the strenght of the movement today.
