The Permanent Forum on Domestic and Gender Violence and the Center for Research on Gender, Race and Ethnicity – NUPREG, the School of Magistrates of the State of Rio de Janeiro – EMERJ, held on August 18th, in commemoration of 16 years of the Maria da Penha Law, the Seminar Gender Perspective and Intersectionality in Public Policies for the Prevention of Violence against Women.

Coordinated by Judge Adriana Ramos de Mello, the seminar included presentations by judges and public managers on the advances and difficulties that have occurred over this 16-year period, the demand for a gender and race intersectionality perspective in public policy and the role of the judiciary in this process aimed at women’s access to justice.
