During the period of March 8 to 29th, CEPIA held a set of 4 online workshops bringing together 17 educators from the Henrique Dodsworth Municipal Public High School, including teachers from different subjects such as Portuguese, mathematics, physical education, arts and geography, in addition to the pedagogical coordinator.

The meetings, facilitated by the consultant Thais Silveira were based CEPIA’s  Manual Habilidades para a Vida: competências psicossociais para adolescents e jovens protagonistas (Handbook Skills for Life: psychosocial skills for adolescents and young protagonists).

This training experience highlighted the challenges of returning to face-to-face classes, after 2 years of isolation and social distancing, where school activities took place in virtual environments. Challenges both in terms of technology to accompany the meetings and in terms of mental exhaustion. Both teachers and students have been going through a process of adjustment and readaptation where the approach to life skills can be very useful, as one of the teachers commented: The Workshop was constructive because it offers us tools that we can use in class in the teaching-learning process.
