On March 21st, day that marks the end of the 21 days of activism against racism and the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, CEPIA, represented by lawyer Mariana Barsted, attended the event organized by the Brazilian Institute for Legal Research and Education (IBRAPEJ), through Dr. Flávia Oliveira, president of the Racial Equality Commission of IBRAPEJ,

The event “Reflections for an anti-racist society”, through three round tables, approached the themes: Institutional Racism: challenges and perspectives; Anti-racist Education in Higher Education; Diversity and Human Rights.

The reflections brought by the speakers started from a critical narrative to the illusory “racial democracy”, rescuing a narrative of resistance, of decolonization of minds and advance of black men and women in the occupation of spaces, to move towards the awareness of an effective and equitable citizenship.
