The publication NEXO Public Policies, January 2022, brings the article of Myllena Calasans de Matos and Fernanda Papa, To 2022: women and Maria da Penha Law protected! the implementation of this Law and point to the current challenges for the protection of black, quilombola, indigenous, rural and forest women.

The article includes interviews with Analba Teixeira, Leila Linhares Barsted and Carmen Campos members of the Maria da Penha Law Consortium who point out how much the justice system acts with stereotypes and call attention to the need to treat the racial issue in a deep way, considering that the statistics show that black women are the most affected by gender violence.
