The Extension Project “Maternity, Media and Childhood”, coordinated by professors Maria Collier de Mendonça and Rogério Covaleski of the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), an initiative of the PHINC Research Group, carried out in partnership with the Pro-Rectory of Extension and Culture at UFPE includes several activities around the theme of motherhood, media and childhood, such as monthly lives and meetings. More recently, it has also started the production of podcasts.
In the podcast episode released on December 7, the conversation about “Brazilian mothers, media and children in the COVID-19 pandemic” had Andrea Pitanguy de Romani as a guest, who highlighted some of the pandemic challenges faced by mothers, highlighting gender inequality in the division of domestic tasks and the intensification of the social role of women as caregivers.
