In October CEPIA celebrates the 33 th anniversary of the promulgation of the Brazilian Citizen Constitution, which has become the main symbol of national redemocratization. To celebrate this date CEPIA promoted the live Political Participation of Women and the landmark of the 1988 Constitution, bringing together Anna Maria Rattes, Constituent Federal Deputy, Jacqueline Pitanguy, President of the National Council for Women’s Rights (CNDM) at the time, and Leila Linhares, lawyer from the OAB Women’s Commission who advised the CNDM, with mediation by Kezia Sampaio, from CEPIA’s team.
The conversation took place within the scope of CEPIA’s monthly lives Trajetórias: talking between women in an intergenerational conversation, reflecting on the advocacy strategies adopted by the women’s movements and the feminist caucus that resulted in the incorporation of more than 80% of women’s demands in the Constitution of 1988.
The meeting took place on October 27th and was broadcast on Cepia’s YouTube channel. To watch the live go here:
