The Sexual Autonomy Group / ELAS Fund organized, on October 26th, the Third Virtual Meeting Dialogues on International Advocacy. Leila Linhares Barsted acted as a speaker/facilitator highlighting the importance of expanding the political advocacy of feminist movements on the various instances of the UN and OAS systems, which are not restricted to the legal advocacy on CEDAW and the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights – IACHR.  She called attention to the impact of legal advocacy on these international mechanisms, which, despite being a long way from judging concrete cases, produces precedents that can be used at the international and national levels in new cases of violation of women’s human rights.
