The Training Channel for Education Professionals of the State of São Paulo promoted, on October 1st, the ODS 5 – International Day of Older Persons Webinar, aimed at female teachers and employees of the state of São Paulo. Leila Linhares Barsted acted as a speaker relativizing the data on the significant increase of the elderly population, especially women, if the indicators of race, ethnicity, and social class are included. She called attention to the reduced network of public services for this age group and to the gender roles that place the care of elderly people and children on women’s shoulders.
