The State Office of Women of the Workers Party / RJ, the Perseu Abramo Foundation and the Center for Public Policy Studies in Human Rights promoted, on August 12th, the Webnar Violence Against Women and 15 Years of the Maria da Penha Law, coordinated by Professor Angela Fontes. Leila Linhares Barsted was one of the speakers presenting the legislative advance made possible by this Law, the importance of the emphasis on prevention policies to change mentalities, the still limited access of women to public policies and highlighted the current Brazilian context of encouragement to arms and misogynistic and racist speeches.
