The Viva Maria Program, pioneer on Brazilian radio in the fight for women’s rights, coordinated by journalist Mara Regia, from the Empresa Brasil de Comunicação – EBC, interviewed, on July 30, Leila Linhares Barsted about the scope of the Maria da Penha Law. Leila, one of the authors of this law, highlighted its importance for public policies aimed at prevention, care for women, and holding men responsible for domestic and family violence. This interview will be widely broadcasted nationally in early August, in commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the Maria da Penha Law.
